Malin Körner – WANTED (GESUCHT) – THAT IS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED.

The question of what is allowed, what is not, what is right and what is wrong? Thoughts keep circling – but who can ever answer them? In the search for oneself, for ourselves, are we really choosing what is right? For that which is essential?

For Malin Körner, the comic The Raccoon Invasion marked a turning point in her artistic practice. Since then, she has moved between media, traversed disciplines, leaving traces in oil painting, ceramics, drawing, ink, wood, and metal. Always with her: the curious raccoon – as mischievous companion and protagonist.

Titles such as “How do we move through life? I really wanna figure it out”, or ““The beginning of a noble family story, Royal Raccoons - between trash and pomp” suggest an artistic quest: exploring the possibilities of art, playfully experimenting in an often overly serious world.

The raccoon becomes Körner's inner mascot, a source of inspiration. It motivates her to show herself, to dare, to experiment. The raccoon began its journey from the story in the comic. Reviled as an invasive species, it simply wants to be itself – to simply live.
