The exhibition Ein Bordstein größer [One curb taller] deals with the idea of the border – as a measure, as a transition, as a moment of displacement. The title refers to a seemingly minimal change: one step higher, one measure smaller. But when does a difference begin to have a noticeable effect? How much of a shift does it take before the small becomes a break, the size becomes a power factor?

The starting point is the documentary recording of temporary situations in urban space: pragmatic, often bizarre constellations, as they appear on building sites or in everyday peripheral zones. These snapshots serve as source material in the studio – they are further developed in form studies, material investigations and model experiments. The aim is always to take up the original image in the mind and transform it into a new, subtly shifted form.

By shifting and repositioning these boundaries in the exhibition's white cube, the result is not only an altered view of the familiar spaces of sp ce | Muthesius, but also of the fundamental structures of our everyday realities.
