Muthesius Publishing Ink is a process-oriented spatial situation that approaches the university as a 'place of publishing'.

In addition to a central work-spce, where publications of any form from the university's various collections can be viewed, and a reading-spce, which provides visitors with material to browse and experience, a presentation-spce is being created, which is open to all forms of presentation of publications, and which arranges the material according to specific questions.

The focus is on a process-oriented, exploratory character, on questions of visual communication and the preparation of content by means of printed works, typography, images and language.

Communication design is an art of its own, whose complex elements interlock and enable the viewer to grasp content, to experience it in the moment and to bind it in print. The aesthetics and the arrangement are not subordinate to the content, rather the design enables perceptibility, conveys the information and creates communication.

For all departments at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts, the publication plays an essential role, as a craft and art form in its own right, as a means of presenting artistic works, as a mediator of complex innovations and technical contexts.
