Leap into the Void

We begin the year 2025 with the process-oriented, open-ended format Leap into the void as an experiment within the annual curatorial theme of NUKLEUS Kiel. Inspired by the iconic photograph Leap into the void by Yves Klein from 1960, we are deliberately venturing into the unknown with our eyes wide open.

At its best, every artistic action is just that, a free fall, a venture into an unfamiliar situation, the outcome of which is open, the effects of which are hazardous, with the risk of rejection or meeting with incomprehension/resistance.

As a continuous practice, the willingness to surrender oneself is essential in order to shape society, to change it, to allow ways of thinking to clash, to move them and to allow something new to emerge.

The basic thesis here is that a prerequisite for artistic and creative work is to allow coincidences, even to incorporate them systemically, and to practice understanding all matter in a state of perpetual movement and change.

Just like atoms drifting in the void. Only when atom collides with atom, friction and connections arise, new paths are taken and energy is released.

Nothing is permanent!

No regular opening hours!
